Outline of Requirements ~ Book Study/Paper
On the date of your presentation, a comprehensive paper, overviewing the provided topic, must couple the presentation. Submit a 7-10 page (not including cover page), typewritten report on a selected book. Topic should mirror the presentation. Paper should be presented in 12-inch font and double-spaced.
The following requirements must be met in the paper. Headers may be used throughout the paper. First person
language should not be utilized, except as noted. In-text citations should cite referenced components of the book.
1. Topic – citing, at a minimum, 3 sources
1. Comprehensive Background Summary of the Disability/Eligibility
2. Eligibility requirements, as stated in IDEA
3. Review of requirements, as outlined in the presentation
2. Book Review including the following:
a. Title
b. Author/Publisher
c. Reason for the selection
d. Comprehensive summary of the book, specifically notating (but not
limited to) the following components:
a. What does the book reveal about the disability?
b. How does the book relate to the chosen disability?
c. Why did you choose this particular piece of literature?
d. What specific action items or practices does this book share that
current and future educators should be aware of?
e. How do you plan to use the information contained in the book in
your future classroom/related service setting?
f. What additional material did you read that is relevant to this class
and the special education field?
3. Work Cited Page (Reference Page, in APA format)
4. A personal reflection on how you may utilize this in your future classroom. First person language may be used in this section of the paper.
