You are running for public office in 1912. Your assignment is to research the candidates who represented the various political parties running for office that year. Find out first of all, what issues these candidates were dealing with in their campaign. Second, you are to pick a side in which you wish to take a stand.Write an essay in which you deal with the issues of the day. Keep in mind that your objective is to win the election and as you present your speech, do so in such a way as to let your audience (me) know that you both understand what the major issues are and that you have a clear plan to deal with each of them. You are allowed to discuss the point of view of your opponent but be sure to do so in such a way as to convey respect and dignity.
