The goal of this assignment is to assess your overall health, beginning with a wellness profile, exploring the roles of cardiovascular exercise and nutrition as they relate to chronic disease, and ending with one new healthy habit you have attempted to institute as an act of pursuing a healthy lifestyle. Be sure to include how you understand a biblical perspective informs the importance of health and wellness. This assignment includes the following topics: Overall Wellness, Stress, Financial Wellness, Spiritual Health, Mental Health, Nutrition, Time Management, Exercise, and Goal Setting.

Overall Wellness
Use the wellness profile you completed in class to examine your strengths and weaknesses. Were there any surprises? Provide a snapshot of your overall health and wellness as it looked at the beginning of this course. Now, go back and complete the wellness profile again, and determine if you’ve made any progress towards healthy change. Indicate any changes you’ve made. Provide 2 specific examples of how you can further make changes in your life to live healthier.

Stress
What was your perceived stress level at the beginning of the course? What do you typically do to cope with stress? Are there any coping mechanisms you didn’t try yet but would like to? Indicate 2 specific coping mechanisms you either instituted or will begin moving forward, and how you believe those will help you manage your stress.

Financial Wellness
Make a budget – this must include any bills you are currently responsible for, necessities (food, rent, utilities, etc), debt, and entertainment allotments. Use the budget worksheet provided, and include what you learned when making a budget, as well as how you’ve changed your spending habits after making this budget. Indicate 2 specific goals you have regarding finances moving forward.

Mental Health
Using the general well-being assessment and emotional intelligence questionnaire, assess your overall mental health. Provide at least 2 specific examples of how you’ve attempted to enhance your overall mental wellness over the past several weeks.

Nutritional Health
Summarize your initial assessment of your nutritional strengths and weaknesses as indicated by the nutrition log assignment. Keep a new log for 3 days and compare it to the first log you recorded in week 4. Compare the two logs and indicate whether you have made any improvements in your nutritional habits over the past 3 weeks. If you have, indicate what specific changes you’ve made and how those changes have brought you closer to following the nutritional guidelines set forth by www.myplate.gov. If you haven’t changed anything, provide 3 specific examples of ways you could change the ‘bad’ habits over the next month.

Exercise
Assess your overall fitness level by providing your resting heart rate, how often you exercise, and BMI (go to https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm for a calculator). Thinking back to your physical activity log, summarize where you began and whether you have been able to increase your physical activity over the past 3 weeks. Looking ahead, provide 3 additional ways you can enhance your fitness level over the next month.

Time-management
Keep track (using the log below) for one week of everything you chose to spend time on. Looking over it, see if there were any spots where you needed more time or where less time should have been spent. Provide 4 suggestions for managing your time more effectively (“Study more” is not a suggestion. “Study from 8:30-9:00am every Tuesday for HLSC 1412, instead of surfing the internet”, is a perfect suggestion).

Spiritual Health
Assess your spiritual health by addressing the following questions: How does one keep spiritually healthy? What are the constructs you can connect to individually and within your community to support spiritual health? What does the Bible say about spiritual health and its importance?

Goal Setting and Reflection
What was your SMART goal for the semester? How would you have changed your behavior change contract? Was there anything that got in the way of you accomplishing your goal? Where do you go from here?

Logistics
Paper must be typed, no more than double spaced, in Times New Roman or Calibri 12 point font. Structure the paper such that each topic listed above is delineated with a heading in bold font. A minimum of two paragraphs (5-7 sentences each) is expected for each topic. The last heading should be the reflection, allowing you to reflect on everything you learned this semester. .
