The Beatles founded their record label “Apple Corps” in 1968. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded Apple Computer in 1976 (they manufactured and sold phone hacking (phreaking) hardware (called “blue boxes”) for a living before that but that is a different discussion).
Research the case of Apple Corps v. Apple Computer. There have been many court battles and at least a couple of settlements but many of the questions are still up in the air. Who should own the right to Apple as a trademark? What type of mark is it anyway? What issues come into play?

Reading Chapter 4
1. )ALL posts must use correct punctuation, grammar, and style. This includes refraining from the use of personal pronouns (I, you, me, we, our, etc) in the discussions and essays. Similarly, rhetorical questions are bad style and should be avoided in all cases as they add little to the discourse.
2.) All posts should employ support, references, and/or citations from the reading and individual student research (format example below). Acceptable sources include the law, case law, academic / legal papers or publications, and any assigned reading. Anecdotes, historical and otherwise, are appreciated but are only that. As I saw cleverly written once…. “the plural of anecdote is not data.”
