– Patient: – 81 year old african american female patient who complained of fever and chills. Presented to the ER with generalized weakness, gangrene & fluid overload.
Patient stubbed her left great toe about 7 weeks ago, when the nail began to fall off and the toe became discolored, eventually turning black. (gangrene) Patient also has positive blood cultures for bacteremia.
– Medical diagnosis : Gangrene
– co-morbidities: End Stage Renal Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Diabetes Mellitus Type 2, Hyperlipidemia (HLD), Hypertension (HTN), GERD
Labs from 1/31 show LOW Hemoglobin of 8.8g/dL & LOW Hematocrit of 29.6%.
