In order to fulfill the requirements for this description, you should be asking yourself questions in order to inform the post. Before you sit down to write, think about the video above, the learning theory your chose, and the principles of learning from the Alexander article. Think about how you are learning from these inputs. How are you making connections for the new input to what it is you already know and believe?
Use these example questions for inspiration. I don’t want you to list these questions and answer them. Ask these types of questions to yourself. Once you know the answer, you should begin to be able to identify with a theory and then be able to describe why you identify with this theory.
Why did I decide to go to college? Is that reason still the same?
Why do I persist in my studies? Why don’t I quit? Am I afraid to fail?
What role does goal setting play in my motivation? Do they work? Do you reexamine goals? How often?
Next, in a new paragraph, I want you to write a very short reflection on what you hope to get out of this course beyond “I want to learn more about learning.” Think a bit about your expectations, what you thought the course would be is there a difference between what you thought/hoped and what it actually is (so far)?
Expectations are about possibilities. Let that sink in for a minute. As an individual person, with your own experiences and ideas, how do you internally cope with expectations and their possibilities vs actual outcome? What is the fine line between disappointment and an unexpected and pleasant surprise? (Again, don’t just write these questions down and answer them, think about them rhetorically and create a cohesive narrative about what this means to you.)
Last, cite the article for this assignment and cite the author of the theory you chose.
