Overview
Over the semester, you discovered the marketing strategies that Convention Visitors Bureaus (CVBs) and National Tourism Offices (NTOs) implement to increase tourism arrivals in their destinations. The course examined the diverse markets and target marketing. It explored various promotional activities used by the CVBs and NTOs, including print advertising, public relations, selling, exhibition, direct mail, and the Internet.
Assignment
You are required to choose a destination and prepare a video-narrated PowerPoint presentation DESTINATION IS ST. LUCIA. As the new Destination Marketing Manager, you are responsible for increasing tourist arrivals to your region/destination. To do so, you must assess your local area to see how to best market your products and services to visitors. To help you conduct this assessment, please use the following questions but not limited to:
1. Name of the Destination – Include a map and short video of the destination
2. What are the unique selling points of your destination? Essentially, what makes your destination different?
3. What are your destination’s primary niche products/services to visitors? Describe the global growth of these niche markets (Hint: Some destinations are known for Cultural, Culinary, Dark, Honeymoon, Dive, Festival Tourism, to name a few)
