One aspect of integrating STEM into curriculum is to interweave STEM content into other content areas, including the arts and humanities. STEM needs to be relevant to students. A crucial component of interdisciplinary teaching is that students be able to see real-life context that fits all areas of curriculum.

Part 1: Unit Plan – Integrated Curriculum
For this assignment, you will continue development of the “Interdisciplinary STEM Unit Plan,” by completing the following areas:
Humanities and/or the Arts Standards – Include a minimum of three humanities and/or arts standards, throughout the unit plan, that align with the overarching theme chosen in Topic 2.
Learning Objectives – Write measurable learning objectives for each lesson that take into consideration interdisciplinary instruction and specifically align to the chosen state standards.
Part 2: Reflection
In 250-500 words, summarize and reflect on the importance of integrating humanities and the arts into STEM curricula. What are the advantages and challenges to integrating humanities and the arts into interdisciplinary instruction? Explain how you will use your findings in your future professional practice.
