Americans find themselves disagreeing with one another way more often than Canadians. So, why are two seemingly homogeneous societies incomparable when it comes to polarization? And how does the handling of different salient issues in the US and Canada (gun control, abortion, immigration, COVID, etc.) contribute to this? It is important to define what “polarization” is (in a political sense) and also give some suggestions on how the US can learn from Canada at the end of the paper.
