The paper is primarily used for assessment purposes and should relate to the course literature used (Todaro & Smith, chapters 1-4, and 12 & 13), as well as the other course literature. You are expected integrate the theories from these chapters into your argumentation.
In the course we discussed the main factors determining economic growth. In this assignment you are asked to write a growth policy advice for the government of Kuwait.
In your paper you are asked to analyse and discuss the following issues:

1. The growth process of the Kuwaiti economy in the past 25 years
2. The main (theoretical) sources of economic growth
3. Discuss at most 1 binding restraints to growth of the Kuwaiti economy (i.e., you are supposed
to discuss the single most binding restraint on growth, even if you could mention as many as
10 restraints!) and make an argument why/how this most binding restraints impacts growth
4. Discuss policy measures that the government could take to promote the occurrence of growth
based on your previous analysis.
5. Critically discuss the role of the state as a facilitator of growth in the KW economy.

You can use materials from the UN’s ESCAP secretariat, your own government, IMF, World Bank, UN, the Central Bank of Kuwait, and academic journals. Try not to use Google, preferably use peer-reviewed sources and don’t use inferior sources like Wikipedia, Investopedia, Economicshelp, tutor-for-you etc. Use of inferior sources will result in deduction of marks.
Paper structure
1. Introduction: The introduction should reflect the overall objective of the paper and sketches the background problem, and the paper structure.
2. Analysis sections: Important points: Is your analysis embedded in the literature discussed during the course? Do you use the tools covered in the course to identify and discuss the problems of your country?
3. Conclusion/recommendations: Do the conclusions and recommendations solve the problems identified and are they feasible. Do the conclusions/recommendations follow from the analysis and discussion?
