Using the readings on anti-Blackness and Afro-Latinx studies, discuss the relationship between how various Latinx communities understand their own racial identities and how they are approaching questions of Blackness and Latinx identity. What are some important historical reasons anti-Black racism has existed historically and today? Drawing on recent events related to questions of Blackness and Latinidad discussed in the course, what sorts of solidarities, prejudices, and/or resentments have
emerged in recent years? And finally, what do you think are some of the most promising ideas or approaches for how Latinx communities can address questions of Blackness, anti-Blackness, and Latinx identity?
