Do your research to find out what (proposed or enacted, state or federal) legislation exists that relates to diagnosis, monitoring, and/or treatment of people living with Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias. Then, take what you have learned over the course of this semester and create a policy brief to inform legislators of what proposed legislation they should support/continue to support and specifically *why* it would be/is effective in a concise way that recognizes their time constraints and level of neuroscience expertise (i.e., likely not much). Your brief should cover pros and cons of the legislation, detail what you have learned in this class that supports or opposes it, why they should care ($$$), any suggestions for alterations they might introduce to make the legislation stronger based on what you’ve learned about Alzheimer’s Disease and the aging brain this semester, etc.
Your brief should be no more than 3 pages (not including references/cover page, single-spaced), should contain at least 5 scholarly sources and references to any relevant policies that you can find out there, and those sources must be cited correctly. Please use APA format for all citations.
