For the Final Group Project in Week 7, you will demonstrate advanced Excel skills, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to interpret the provided data in a presentation format using Kaltura. You will develop an effective presentation using the skills learned in this course. Review the final project instructions, final project rubric, and final project checklist below.

In this final project, you will use data on Top’t Corn’s financial activities (an imaginary popcorn business). This will be an exploration of the practical review and presentation of Top’t Corn’s business raw data, pivot tables, and charts. You will create a Presentation sharing the Excel data workbook and what the data means to you. Review the final project instructions below and the Excel data workbook.Download Excel data workbook.

CTA 326 Final Group Project

In this project, you will work with sales data from Top’t Corn, a popcorn company with an online store, multiple food trucks, and one store in a local shopping mall.

There are 4 food truck locations and Tyson’s store in the mall. The New Truck tab in the Excel file (linked above) shows data on whether they can afford a loan.

Notice these calculations in the data:

Calculated totals
Pie charts representing total units sold by location
Column chart that represents sales by popcorn type
Loan payment calculations for a new truck
Review and present on all eight (8) Excel spreadsheets (Data, Trucks, New Truck, Tyson Store, Online Sales Table, two PivotTables and a PivotChart). Analyze the data so that you can report it out to an audience such as your work peers and your boss. You will develop a presentation using the visual aid tools learned in your textbook, Integrating Excel into Business Problem Solving. You must record the presentation using the Kaltura Links to an external site.screencast function.

DIRECTIONS:

In this final project presentation, you will answer the questions below in your presentation. You do not have to say the questions out loud, but you must discuss your data in terms of the questions below, as if you are reporting your data to your boss.

Present the information in the Excel data workbook while demonstrating the various Excel functions and features you learned in the course, such as creating a table to demonstrate filtering and/or sorting, conditional formatting, PivotTable(s), and the PivotChart field list pane, slicers, and filtering features. Explain and answer the questions below using the Excel spreadsheets in the data workbook and do not present the information using screen shots or images of the spreadsheets.

What is the company name and what kind of data will you be presenting?
What does the raw data spreadsheet show?
What data does the Pivot Chart and Pivot Tables summarize?
Why is this summarized data important?
Find the top 10 sales dates and discuss the average minimum and maximum sales in relationship to the daily sales goal.
Do you recommend increasing the price per box of popcorn? Your answer should demonstrate whether the new price will increase the number of days the sales goals will be met.
Explain some maximum and minimum data on your Pivot-table/Chart.
Do you recommend buying a new truck? Explain your decision based on the dollar amount of money the company will gain or lose if they purchase a new truck.
In your presentation, you should utilize Tips for Effective Presentations listed on page 82 of your textbook (Figure 8.2) and insert the following.

A title introduction project overview worksheet with a list of group members’ names who participated in the project.
A closing worksheet with a summary of the presentation.
Using the skills you learned in Excel Chapter 5, include images and/or screenshots on the overview and summary sheets.
