Research Study on Co-Parenting vs a Father Having Sole Custody

This paper is to explain why co-parenting with one parent (the mother) being physically, emotional, medical, and educational negligent and abusive is more detrimental than for child now and in future vs a father raising the child without the mother (sole custody). There is a lot of researching stating that co-parenting is more beneficial for a child than being raised in a one parent home. However, this paper needs to explain how a child being raised by a loving and doting father is more beneficial for a child now and in the long run than co-parenting with an abusive and neglecting mother. The primary difference between neglect and abuse is that neglect tends to happen accidentally, while abuse usually involves causing intentional harm to a child. Also discussed a child’s mental, emotional, and long term effects of being raised (co-parenting) with a mother who is abusive and neglecting (including the bullying aspect from the mother and other kids). Also discussed a child’s mental, emotional, and long term effects of being raised only by a loving and doting father. Below are sections or paragraph headings to be used in the paper.

1) Negatives of co-parenting with one parent being physically neglecting. Physical neglect: a child’s basic needs, such as food, clothing or shelter, are not met or they aren’t properly supervised or kept safe. This includes not doing their hair and not changing their clothes from day-to-day. The failure to provide for a child’s basic survival needs, such as nutrition, clothing, shelter, hygiene, and leaving children unsupervised in a home. How can this is bullying by the mom and could lead to bullying by other kids?

2) Negatives of co-parenting with one parent being physically abusive. Physical abuse is intentional bodily injury; bruising, abrasions, cuts, and scratches. Additional examples include slapping, pinching, choking, kicking, or shoving. This also includes causing head trauma to a child. How can this is bullying by the mom and could lead to bullying by other kids?

3) Negatives of co-parenting with one parent being emotionally neglecting and abusive. Emotional or psychological child abuse is a pattern of behavior that impairs a child’s emotional development or sense of self-worth. This may include constant criticism, threats, or rejection, as well as withholding love, support, or guidance. Emotional abuse is an act, whereas emotional neglect is a failure to act. How can this is bullying by the mom and could lead to bullying by other kids?

4) Negatives of co-parenting with one parent being medical neglecting. Medical neglect can take many forms, but most commonly results from a caregiver failing to seek medical attention for a disease or injury, or from the failure to follow through on a medical plan of care for a dangerous condition. How can this is bullying by the mom and could lead to bullying by other kids?

5) Negatives of co-parenting with one parent being educational negligence. Educational negligence is a serious issue which can impact not only on a child’s school life but on their future ambitions or career choices. It can take many forms from a failure to provide an acceptable standard of teaching to ignoring non-attendance or not catering for special educational needs. Such as not sending a child to school, not doing a child’s homework at home, and not providing any educational or learning time at home. How can this is bullying by the mom and could lead to bullying by other kids?

6) Negatives of parenting with co-parenting with one parent being a narcissist. How can this is bullying by the mom and could lead to bullying by other kids?
