Preamble
Social-emotional development in early childhood is an important part of a person’s overall health, well-being, and happiness throughout his or her life. (Mcilroy, 2022; Palmer, 2019). Children’s early experiences consist of interactions with caregivers, parents, other family members, childcare providers, teachers and their environment. Due to the rapid nature of brain development in early childhood, the quality of early experiences can lay either a strong or weak foundation, which will affect how children react and respond to the world around them for the rest of their life.
A.Discuss four important milestones of social-emotional development during the childhood stage. Examine the contributions of John Bowlby’s Attachment theory and Erik Erikson’s Psychosocial theory to our understanding of the importance of social and emotional development during the childhood stage. (Cite relevant credible literature and give examples to support your answers).
b. Illustrating with examples and citing credible sources of literature, discuss the roles
that families, parental styles and types play in the social and emotional development of Caribbean children as their social circles expand. (Use at least 3 Caribbean scholarly articles)
