Write an essay on one of the following works: Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises, Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, OR Williams’s Streetcar Named Desire. Focus on the ending of the work and choose an aspect of the author’s world view (e.g. gender relations, self-empowerment, setting) that interests you. All of these works are great Modernist texts that culminate in a message that the author wishes to convey to the reader. It is up to you to decipher that message. Be sure to construct your paper in the format of an argument.
