There have been great effects of Chinas continued Zero-Covid policy on the people and economy; including mass testing, border closings, rigorous lockdowns, and strict isolation/quarantines. There has also been widespread controversy surrounding the continued implementation of Chinas Zero-Covid policy; some stating that it has become more political due to President Xi Jinpings re-election happening this month. Easing, dropping this policy, or going back on their word could mean losing face and failure in Chinese culture. Chinas leaders state that it is the only way to continue life without mass death and economic failure. This leads to the question, Is Covid-Zero actually beneficial, or is it now simply a political game?
