Initial Posts (300 – 500 words)
Please conduct a brief literature on one of the trace minerals covered in this week ( chromium, iodine, and manganese.). Present a recent research article that meet the following criteria. Posts that present articles that do not meet all requirements will NOT receive credits.
Time of publication: no earlier than 2018
Type of publication: original research study where authors collected and analyzed data themselves. Please do not choose a review article (eg. reviews, opinions, guidelines, positions papers, perspectives, editorials, etc), systemic review, or meta-analysis. If in doubt, please email the article to the instructor or the librarian for confirmation AFTER your have assessed the article.
Content of publication: a human study and one of the minerals covered in this week.
In your initial post, please:
Briefly summarize the research article you choose. Please do not be limited by the original abstract of the article. Make sure to summarize the article in your own words.
Imagine one of your client heard about this study from some media outlet and asks you about it, how would you explain this study to this client? Provide your main “talking points” in bullet format and at least one take-home message in complete sentences to this client.
Provide the citation in AMA format.
Attach the full article in pdf format. If the article was published in a journal that does not require subscriiption for access, providing the URL will be adequate.
