Unit I Essay
For this first assignment, you will complete a two-page essay outlining the relationship between the scientific method and the steps of fire investigations that are outlined in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 921 to use in daily fire investigator work.
The essay should be an overview of the steps and the scientific method with a personal interpretation of the information from the textbook and NFPA 921, not an analysis chapters. The essay should also include how a local department documents the use of the scientific method and the steps of the investigation to recall the information and present it in court when needed.
The essay should be written in a scholarly format, free from technical jargon, and written to an audience of newly recruited fire investigators.
At least two pages in length, not including the title and references pages.
