Operations are where inputs, or factors of production, are converted to outputs, which are goods and services. Operations are the heart of a business—providing goods and services in a quantity and of a quality that meets the needs of the customers. Operations control the supply chain, including procurement and logistics.
The Operations functional area is managed by the Chief Operations Officer (COO). In this example, Operations consist of Production, led by a Vice President (VP), a Supply Chain department, and a Procurement area with Director-level people in charge.
What are the functional areas of a business? Generally, the six functional areas of business management involve strategy, marketing, finance, human resources, technology and equipment, and operations.

MBTI – MBTI stands for Myers Briggs Type Indicator. This is a tool that is frequently used to help individuals understand their own communication preferences and how they interact with others. Having an awareness of what MBTI is can help you adapt your interpersonal approach to different situations and audiences. MBTI. The four categories are introversion/extraversion, sensing/intuition, thinking/feeling, and judging/perceiving. According to the MBTI, each person is said to have one preferred quality from each category, producing 16 unique types.
DEI – Defining diversity, equity, and inclusion. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is a term used to describe policies and programs that promote the representation and participation of different groups of individuals, including people of different ages, races and ethnicities, abilities and disabilities, genders, religions, cultures, and sexual orientations.
Teamwork – Teamwork is, “The process of working collaboratively with a group of people in order to achieve a goal. Teamwork is often a crucial part of a business, as it is often necessary for colleagues to work well together, trying their best in any circumstance. Teamwork is important because it enables your team to share ideas and responsibilities, which helps reduce stress on everyone, allowing them to be meticulous and thorough when completing tasks. This will enable them to meet sales goals quickly.
ESG – What are the 3 pillars of ESG?
The three pillars of ESG are:
• Environmental – this has to do with an organization’s impact on the planet.
• Social – this has to do with the impact an organization has on people, including staff and customers, and the community.
• Governance – this has to do with how an organization is governed. Is it governed transparently?
