1. Determine whether the each of the original statements below is a Fact, a Value, or a Policy statement.
A. To persuade my audience that refined sugar is harmful to human health
B. To persuade my audience that a national sales tax should be adopted to reduce the national debt.
C. To persuade my audience that it is unethical for doctors to receive money from pharmaceutical companies to promote their products.
D. To persuade my audience to join Teach for America
2. Rewrite the statement as one of the other types of speech (so if you determine it’s originally a statement of Fact, then rewrite it as a statement of Policy or Value).
3. If the statement is of policy, indicate whether you think it is a policy of immediate action or passive agreement.
