Analysis will be based The Birds (1963) from Alfred Hitchcock. The analysis should be 2-3 page (typed, double spaced) film analysis should follow this
format:
1. Provide a brief (one-paragraph) summary of the film.
2. Identify one major existential theme and carefully describe/define that theme based on
readings and class notes.
3. Explain how the film depicts that theme. What imagery demonstrates it? What characters
embody it?
4. Discuss how this film’s perspective on this theme contributes to your understanding of what
it means to live an authentic life?
