This program proposal may take the form of an updated curriculum, innovative pedagogical practices, youth participatory action research
project, community organizing, or some other project that directly impacts youth. Whether based in schools
or communities, your program should utilize an asset-based approach that promotes a positive youth identity
and seek to empower youth agency and resistance. Your proposal should contain the following components:

II. Statement of Need (why is this program necessary? why is this program important? provide scholarly and experiential evidence),
III. Detailed Description of Program Activities (provide concrete details of your plan of action, as well as a timeline and
rationales for these activities), IV. Outcomes and Assessments (what are your goals for this program? how will
you evaluate the effectiveness of your program?),
V. Budget/Resources Needed (general discussion of the
financial, institutional, and/or community resources needed to complete this project),
VI. Conclusion (brief paragraph summary of this proposal.
Six of the 8 references should be outside scholarly sources related to the Support Program that provides mental and behavioral support to k-12 students that have been affected by long term effects of COVID-19 services. The remaining 2 references should be from course readings.
Support Program that provides mental and behavioral support to k-12 students that have been affected by long term effects of COVID-19 services. This grant funded program will be free to 200 participants and their families. There will be three locations to receive onsite assistance and services. These locations will reside near low-income, people of color communities. From there they will be assigned to a social worker best fit for each participant. Operating hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. to accommodate working families. On average, families experiencing behavioral issues post trauma with limited resources and support will be offered emergency treatment and services. This program will help families in crisis with mental health services and home schoolteachers available for students that are experiencing PTSD. The program will offer English, basic math, and reading courses. These classes will be offered in the evening all week long to accommodate the working families. Referrals will be made on a need basis when participants request additional support and services. Its project design fortifies a strong theoretical framework that is innovative, cutting edge, and culturally relevant to low-income families. A mixed methods approach using both quantitative and qualitative data. Students enrolled in K-12 Support, will participate in a pre and post evaluation, and the parents will participate in focus groups as well as the program leadership and teaching staff to verify progress to assure needs are being met.
