in 3-5 pages:
Write a memo that articulates what you are noticing about how human interaction mediates participation at your site (see attachment for data notes and WPAOG by laws).
Conceptual frame. Draw on course readings (especially weeks 5-9 and other relevant readings: “two articles attached”
from this course to explain a conceptual framework that will guide analysis. Be sure the concept(s) build on learning as participation and helps you show the ways that human interaction mediates participation.
Data. Collect several samples (at least
two) of discourse and/or records of interaction at your focal site that are relevant to the question/interests you posed in the Plan for Data Collection memo. These observations/collections will be the data you use for your analysis. For example:
Analyze your data with an eye towards answering the question: “How does human interaction mediate participation in your focal site?” In the analysis, you will tell the reader what the data means in light of the conceptual frame.
Design. If this site (or meeting, or activity) could be redesigned to more productively support opportunities to learn, what would that redesign look like? Ground this design in the observations and analysis conducted above.
