Overall Points for Speakers 2 and 3:
Each speaker should present 2-3 key points
Speaker 2 – Evaluating the evidence/literature supporting the
efficacy of the intervention for the psychological
disorder/population group
Describe the relevant parts of each reviewed study and
explain why it is relevant to the subtopic at hand
Try to avoid devoting one slide to each individual
study/source you review. Instead, organise and present your points using main points and themes. Try and review one broader theme per slide and site all the sources that are relevant to that theme in each respective slide (rather than taking a great deal of speaking time focusing on one study)
Any one source is likely to be cited at multiple points throughout your paper as you refer to sub-topics for which the article is relevant
Speaker 2: Evaluating the evidence/literature supporting the efficacy of the intervention for the psychological disorder/population group
Speaker 2 should provide the audience with an overview of the evidence that is supporting the efficacy of the intervention for the specific psychological disorder or cultural group
Speaker 2 should verbally synthesise the combined findings from experimental evidence (describing the important results from recent primary literature articles) to show the audience how and in what way the therapy/intervention has been found to effective for addressing the needs of the given population
Speaker 2 should compare related studies supporting the efficacy of the intervention: what are the major relationships, trends, and patterns in the literature?
What are the similarities and differences between the sources? Mention commonalities and distinctions in research methods, especially if that helps to explain variations in study results
Do the therapies/treatments successfully reduce some symptoms/address some issues and not others? What are the effects during post treatment and follow-Up?
