2. Short Paper #2 — There are various forms of Digital Divide (ethnic/racial, income, geography, age). These divides have changed overtime: access to technology such as computers, access to the internet, access to high-speed internet, access to mobile technologies. Public sector organizations are becoming more functional as they increasingly rely on technology communications. Many public libraries offer access to and courses in – using technology. If you had to close a digital divide “gap” in your community (it can be any of the gaps discussed) – what class would you offer at your public library, your home, a specific community center, etc? In a short one page “advertisement” (You can be creative as you wish in your advertisement flyer) – indicate the class being offered and goals of the class, plus any other details that may be of interest. In the second page, discuss briefly (in 1-2 paragraphs) why this class is important and needed. Why group X will be able to access or learn how to use Y. Making it relative to your community is ideal, but critical is making it a contemporary issue as possible. The divides of today are not necessarily one of having access to the internet as they were fifteen years ago.
