In the first part, write a proposal for your research paper. This document should be about 1.5-2 pages and be properly formatted in MLA style. It should include the following information in this order: -Title -A concise statement indicating the topic of your paper, and what you intend to argue about it in your thesis. -Background information on the topic (this should be no longer than one or two paragraphs, and should provide very basic, contextual information. Imagine you are writing a dictionary entry for someone with no prior knowledge of the topic.) -The problem, or controversy, related to the topic that you will specifically be addressing. -The key questions that you will be researching, and attempting to answer, in your paper. What resources do you plan on accessing in the service of your argument? -Why this topic is significant. This is your justification: imagine you are trying to persuade someone who doesn’t appreciate the importance of what you are going to write about.
