Stages of the Essay
Part 1: Summarize your argument and provide basic information about the film such as title, genre, directors name, release date, awards, budget, box office, and relevant cast members. Just mention the most pertinent cast members.
Part 2: Compose a brief plot summary.
Part 3: Provide a historical context for the story. This must include information on the ethnic tensions, European colonization of Rwanda, the role of the United Nations, and examples of other genocides or massacres in which the media played a role in breeding hate. All info here should be relevant to understand the movie and put your argument in context.
Part 4: Purpose of the film behind the film. Answer the question, Why was this film created?
Part 5: Deep meaning of how media teach people to hate. Use elements from the movie (e.g., phrases, conversations, scene description, symbolic things, gestures, etc.) to back your argument about the situation described in the movie.
