You have been tasked with developing the hedging strategy for your company specifically related to FX rates. As the CFO is interested in locking in future FX rates to attain a more accurate forecast you must decide the best approach to attain this goal. In this module, we talk about multiple derivative instruments that could be used as the basis of this new strategy, forwards, and futures.
You are expected to present the new strategy, including justification, to the CFO in 2 days. Present your case for the strategy that you have chosen, including why you chose to use futures, forwards, or a combination of both to attain the goal.
You will be placed in teams to create your presentations. The presentations will consist of PowerPoint slides (or whatever presentation software you choose to use). The maximum number of slides is 10. You will include detailed notes in the notes section of the slides. Also, properly cite sources using APA format. You must include a References slide or slides listing all of the sources cited in the presentation. You are free to add media to your slides (i.e. videos, audio).
Each team will respond to another team’s presentation by performing a formal, academic peer review. This will serve as your first response to your peers. The peer review will contain the following elements:
Assess the conceptualization, analysis, and synthesis of key research concepts presented.
Evaluate whether the presentation provides a cohesive summary of the assigned concepts with an effective evaluation of their implications for hedging research, as well as for business practices.
Assess whether the presenting group made a meaningful academic argument or interpretation that demonstrated fluency with the material.
