After completing the reading for this session, address TWO of the following:
1. In the beginning of the chapter, the research of Dr. Robert Cooper was highlighted in order to demonstrate the importance of pursuing passions.
How does Dr. Cooper’s research demonstrate that pursuing passions is an important aspect of finding a meaningful career?
Is it more important to be passionate about your career or about your pursuit of financial stability?
Do you agree with Dr. Cooper’s findings? Support your answer with information from the textbook as well as your own experiences.
2. Dr. John Holland has developed a widely used classification system that can be used to help individuals identify interests related to careers. Do you agree with the classification system that he developed, or do you think there are other ways to establish career related interests?
If you are in support of the Holland method, provide at least three reasons why you believe that the Holland classification system is an ideal approach. If you are more in favor of an alternative approach, briefly describe it and provide three examples as to why you think this might be a more effective method.
3. The Santosh example, described in the textbook, provides an overview of the difficulties associated with striking a balance between internal and external issues in selecting a career. In Santosh’s case, he attempted to strike this balance by sticking with a career that he initially did not enjoy, and then he found a way to work his passions into his work life.
Do you agree with this approach? If so, provide three specific reasons as to ADL 470 Syllabus Page 11 of 25 ( link above) why you feel Santosh resolved this issue effectively. If not, provide an alternative solution and three specific reasons why this might be a better approach.
In total, your posting should be at least 250 words APA format (citing and references)
