Phonological Video:
1. Provide 3 examples of phonological errors (ex. consonant sequences, velar) and how the 3 year old exhibited the errors.
In the video he said ‘’eerenn instead of green- cluster reduction
In the video he said ‘’ ellow instead of yellow-consonant deletion
In the video he said fumb instead of thumb-syallable reduction
2. Discuss overall impact of intelligibility on the child’s language.
Throughout the video I found it hard to understand him since he had several phonological errors. This does currently impact his intelligibility, but I do believe he can overcome this. Especially if he continues going to therapy.
Articulation Video:
1. Provide 2 examples of articulation errors that the 4-year-old demonstrated.
Foua- This is the way she pronounced the word four
Lellow- This is the way she pronounced the word yellow
2. Are these errors typical for her age or not? Discuss your view.
These errors are not typical for her age because this is called regressive assimilation. It’s suggested that the child seek help if they’re pass the age of 3 years old.
