For this assignment, using the “What, So What, Now What” model, you will reflect on
THREE “critical learning incidents” in your educational history.
● Your reflection should be c1000 words maximum. (NB: There is no need to do research
or provide citations unless you choose to refer to any information, quotes or ideas from
another author).
● This reflective essay cannot be merely descriptive (i.e., it cannot only describe your
critical learning incidents); you must also analyze and explain why these experiences
influenced you then and how do they still influence you today.
● Your essay should follow this structure:
Introduction: define critical learning incidents, explain the purpose of your reflection (what it will discuss and why) and briefly state the experiences you will
discuss in the discussion. (approx. 150 words)
Body paragraphs/discussion: describe the experience “what”, then analyse why
it was significant then “so what”, and explain how it still influences you today
“now what” (approx. 700 words)
Conclusion: briefly summarize what you discussed and make some concluding
thoughts (approx. 150 words)
