During this module you focused on the use of outside resources to support curriculum development for children with special needs. A key piece of providing an effective curriculum plan is to have a clear idea of the needs of the child. Using additional resources to provide insight and ideas can assist in the development of curriculum that can support the learning needs of children with a variety of developmental needs.
For this activity, you will use community resources to develop an activity that supports the developmental needs of a young child. Your final submission will contain multiple pieces, so be sure to read through the following information carefully.
Part 1
1. Identify a specific special need for a child in an ECE setting. Describe the age of the child and provide a descriiption of the special needs.
2. Locate five (5) community resources that can provide support and information related to the special need. Provide the name, contact information, and a summary of the support provided by the resource.
3. Describe how each resource could be used to develop curriculum that would support the learning needs of the child.
4. Explain how each resource would support the needs of the family. Include how these resources provide support inside or beyond the classroom. Also address how this information will be shared with the families.

Part 2
Develop a lesson plan using the provided template for the child that incorporates resources or information provided by the community organizations. Complete the full template.
Part 3
Describe how this activity could also be used to support the needs of typically developing children in an inclusive setting. Address what changes would need to be made to the current activity to support others in the classroom. (1-2 pages)
Submit all three parts of the assignment together. Be sure to proofread carefully for spelling and grammatical errors.
