One paragraph for each prompt, must answer both:
**first prompt: While the pelvic limbs generally are always involved in locomotion, the thoracic limbs of some animals may serve different functions. Choose an animal and discuss how the anatomy of the muscles of its thoracic limbs are similar or different to the muscles of the pelvic limbs, in terms of their structure.
**second prompt: There is often redundancy in anatomical structures that allow an injured animal to continue to have a semblance of normal function. Muscle rupture leading to breakdown injury occurs in multiple species of animals.
Considering the changes described in that article, pick an animal and a major muscle of the appendicular skeleton. Describe how this animal would move if that muscle or muscular group was injured and could no longer function normally. Could the animal move? Would this animal be able to even stand? Name the muscles involved in supporting its weight if the chosen muscle or muscular group were ruptured.
