Client Descriptions
1. 26 y.o. white, female, daily IV heroin user. She is concerned she is pregnant though she has not had her period for several months. She enters community health center and asks for a pregnancy test. She is refused pregnancy test and her concerns are dismissed. She is afraid that she may be harming her fetus if she is pregnant. She leaves the center feeling hurt and does not plan on returning. She is beginning to feel withdrawal symptoms and is afraid of becoming sick.
2. 62 y.o. Native American, homeless, daily alcohol use. He is experiencing chest pains but afraid to go to the hospital. He does not feel like they treat him like a human. He has been told before in the ER, “This is not a homeless shelter.”
