The paper needs to address the learning outcome: Assess competing theories of criminal behavior for explaining differing crime patterns across rural-urban contexts.
Theories being focused on and arguably the attached materials hold more weight in social theories of crime such as strain theory, social disorganization theory, and social learning theory.
but you can choose from the few (has to be defended) : Psychological, Biological or Social/sociological or lifecourse theories of crime via the material provided. If outside sources are utiized they need to be peer-reviewed and primary but meta analysis are good too.
An introduction to the material. This introduction should include the learning outcome, a summary statement of the importance of the topic and a brief outline of the information you will present in more detail.
• References to every material as appropriate [attached docs with notes detailing summaries and importance of material +powerpoints] These references should include a brief summary of each material followed by how specifically each material relates to this specific learning outcome.
• References to class lectures and discussions for that learning outcome. These references could include specific lecture slides / handouts / points made in the presentations or notes [attached]
• A conclusion. This conclusion should address why this learning outcome is important (for some this could be related to why it will be important for you as a professional, or why it’s important as a citizen of the world, etc.) and how your knowledge on this topic has changed since the beginning of class.
