I want a paper about why Florida teachers should be required to take diversity trainings after college. Most teachers are required to take diversity, inclusion, and equity courses in college if they graduated with an elementary or secondary education degrees. Anyone with a bachelor’s degree can get a certificate in teaching, therefore they haven’t received any diversity training.
Another point is if a teacher teaching for many years, the demographic of students are always changing so its important for teachers to have the knowledge of how to navigate their classroom.
Florida also faces a challenge with workplaces and schools, House Bill 7 sets parameters on workplace diversity training programs that discuss race, gender, and discrimination that took effect July 1st.
I think this topic is important because teachers play a vital role in our students lives. the training helps teachers become more aware of unconscious bias and other barriers to diversity and inclusion, and motivates positive behaviors and attitudes. classroom could maintain a respectful , inclusive place for students to gain behaviors that will help them in society and future workplace.
