You will select from the following list of books and write a five page review of the book. These are all memoirs. We’ll talk about this in class, but a book review is not a book report. While it includes a summary narrative of the book, it dives deeper into the author’s purpose in writing the book, the themes he surfaces, and an evaluation of how the book furthers your understanding of the Holocaust as well as your opinion of how effective the book was. Also, consider the problems inherent with a memoir. How accurate do you believe this memoir to be?
