Elections, Voting & the 2022 TX Gubernatorial Debate
Elections and Voting
As election season is upon us, I would like to read over your perspectives related to elections and voting.
Do you view elections to be important? Why?
What about mid-term elections? Do you see opportunities to designate local, State, and Federal representatives as critical to meeting public needs/requests?
In what ways do you participate in this part of democracy in the USA? (e.g. vote, attend political events, volunteer for campaigns as individuals decide to run for political office, endorse candidates with paraphernalia, talk about politics with family/friends, etc.).
TX Governor Greg Abbott (R) debated his challenger Beto O’Rourke (D) on Friday [September 30];
here is the youtube video link (*the debate begins roughly 10 minutes into clip provided*):
Unfortunately, this will be the only opportunity interested parties will get to see these two challenge each other on public policies they would like to take on to improve the quality of life for the people of TX. I’d like to read over three (3) issues you would like addressed by TX State government, and/or USA Federal government. After watching the debate, tell me:
If any/all of your concerns were mentioned, and addressed, during this debate?
Do you feel confident that one of these two men will exhaust all resources at their disposal to resolve your concern(s), therein improving the quality of life not just for you, but for communities across TX?
Based on responses submitted, I am willing to consider applying 75 total extra credit points for your responses to the questions listed above. A one (1) page report would be fine
