1.Please give me your overall impressions of the “Parable on Populism” … did you enjoy the reading and what did you think of the article? Was it interesting for you (or not) and did you discover or learn anything new at the conclusion of the reading? Regardless of your opinion, please provide details and examples where appropriate.
2. What do you think were the strengths of the article and what do you think were the article’s weaknesses? Could the work have been improved in any way, or is it fine in its current state?
3.Do a quick comparison between the political planks and the political agenda of the Populist Party as outlined in our class lecture slides, to our current civic practices. Which of the political planks/political agenda first articulated and supported by the People’s Party actually exist for us today? Be as detailed and as specific as possible in your responses … much of the Populist political agenda was considered radical for its time, and many of them are now taken for granted. But WHICH ones do we enjoy in our election’s today??
