In the course presentations on Meditations on First Philosophy, I described René Descartes’ epistemological theory as theocentric. For Descartes, God plays an important role in explaining how knowledge is possible. How does John Locke’s theory of knowledge compare with Descartes’ in this regard? For Locke, is knowledge only possible if we can prove that God exists? Which view do you find more defensible? Explain and defend your position.
