Just some notes:
When Dr. Roberts is describing “hereditability”, he is talking about the components of personality that you inherit or that you are born with (inherited from your parents.
Don’t get overwhelmed by some of the parts where he gets very in detail about genomes etc., try to focus on the big picture *I don’t expect you to be able to relay every single piece of the information from this video, I am more interested in the parts that stood out to you and that you have an opinion on.
Prompt Questions for Reflection Paper #2
– Describe Dr. Robert’s perspective on how much of your personality is inherited and how it informs predicting behavior.
– What surprised you about the findings of the studies that Dr. Roberts discusses?
– How does Dr. Roberts answer questions about if and how researchers change personality? What are your ideas on these approaches (do you agree or disagree)?
– Finally, do you feel you would want to change something about your personality? What would you want to change and knowing what you do about how researchers approach it (citing from the textbook and video) what could you implement in your life to change that personality characteristic?
