Description: Each student will identify and conduct a comprehensive examination of a treatment within a global context. Deliverables will include: 1) an information brief – 2 page overview of the problem and relevant factors
Steps:
1. Identify a global issue, outside the field of ABA, special education, or disabilities fields. Examples may include: healthcare, climate/environment, nutrition, education (not special education), economic, vocational, safety, etc.
2. Conduct internet based research of your chosen issue. Identify the following information about your issue:
• Definition/Description of the issue
• Description of why the issue is important
• Description of the cause of the issue and/or its origins
• Description of various solutions to the issue and their relative research support
• Description of the type of fallacy used by individuals who support non-evidence based solutions to the issue
3. Write a 2-page overview including each of the items from #2 above:

• Description of the cause of the issue and/or its origins
• Description of various solutions to the issue and their relative research support
• Description of the type of fallacy used by individuals who support non-evidence based solutions to the issue
Deliverable/Scoring Criteria:
• Written Report, professionally written, including at least 5 sources in APA format (5 points):
• Definition/Description of the issue (10 points)
• Description of why the issue is important (10 points)
• Description of the cause of the issue and/or its origins (5 points)
• Description of various solutions to the issue and their relative research support (30 points)
• Description of the type of fallacy used by individuals who support non-evidence based solutions to the issue (10 points)
