Create a list of what you believe are the 5 most important of King’s writing rules, and place them in order of priority – for you. Include the list on the first page of your paper. (See example.) Remember to apply the rules throughout your paper.
Write an essay in which you analyze and present your response to King’s memoir. Weave answers to the following questions through your paper:
What are King’s two theses?
Which of King’s rules are most important as they apply to your writing?
How do King’s rules apply to writing in history?
How will you use King’s rules to improve your writing in history courses?
