Demonstrate your knowledge of Vim by using efficient commands to save keystrokes. Remember to use numbers with navigation keystrokes to save keystrokes.
You will use the website https://vim-adventures.com/quiz/ to take the quiz. You goal is to correct all of the mistakes and edits in less than 160 keystrokes (full credit). Try to get less than 120 keystrokes for super status.
You are allowed to restart Vim-adventures quiz by pressing [esc] :e [enter] if you need to revise your strategy and use better commands. Try not to navigate to an edge as that will cause death. No “deaths” allowed in game.
After you achieve your objective, answer the Canvas quiz question regarding how many keystrokes and take a screenshot of the score on the final splash screen to upload as evidence you achieved your goal.
– Purple balloons need to be added. If it has a white square at beginning or end of word, that indicates a space is required
-Characters with a red line through them need to be removed
-Characters with a diagonal red line through it and a small letter in the corner must be changed to that letter
-If you appear stuck, press [esc]
-After adding text, be sure to press [esc] to get credit.
-The avatars provide help if you cursor over them
-:e restarts the game
I suggest you try navigating the text and trying different commands for about 5 minutes then restart and try to get a good (low) score
You should not use a laptop due to the screen size. You may need to adjust your browser size or use the browser zoom control to see all of the characters you need to replace. See zoom adjustment.
– Upload a screenshot from the Vim Adventures Quiz that demonstrates you scored less than 160 keystrokes. This will be on the splash page after you complete the quiz. The score is in top left. Your screenshot will need show entire game area. The screenshot below shows the final splash page.
