Diagnosis. With reference to the criteria described in the DSM-5-TR or ICD-11 students will need to discuss how the characteristics of the person that are presented indicate the criteria one of the conditions in either the DSM-5-TR or ICD-11. The provisional diagnosis should be informed by an understanding of the cultural limitations of the classification systems.
4Ps and Cognitive behaviour therapy case formulation. Students will develop a (1) 4Ps and (2) Cognitive Behaviour Therapy based working formulation based on the information provided in the case study. The formulations can be written or presented in diagram form but should clearly indicate the factors that are likely to be causing and maintaining the individuals problems and should demonstrate consideration of biological, socio-cultural and psychological factors.
