Two parts to question 1 – please be sure to answer both:
a. Male sexuality (not to be confused with the act of sex) is considered more fragile than female sexuality. Why is this? (This is not taken from a reading – it’s an analysis question – think about how one of the men in Crips and Bloods wanted to “be respected as a man”).
b. We might hear “be respected as a man”, but why would we probably not hear “be respected as a woman”?
2. Explain and describe the lives of the young men in Crips and Bloods. These families were beginning to become economically more stable in the 60s. What happened to them? What do they need that they don’t have?
