Your task is to propose a way to operationalize psychological constructs and suggest a relationship with another variable. This essay should be between 300-450 words.

Choose ONE of the following constructs: fear, depression, happiness, stress, intelligence, success, extroversion, introversion, learning research methods, boredom, confidence, being on time, Internet addiction. OR: choose your own that we did NOT discuss in class.

1) Propose a way to operationalize (measure) your chosen psychological constructs. YOU MAY use the Internet and research this – you do not have to make this up completely! If you do find a useful measure, just make sure you describe in general what the scale is measuring, and why, and how it is scored – in your own words. (5 points)

2) Briefly provide some justification as to why is a VALID measure of your constructs. You may choose Construct, Internal, or External validity to support your justification. You do not have to be “correct,” but your justification DOES have to be plausible. (3 points)

3) Describe some PLAUSIBLE relationship between the operational definition of your construct and one other variable (such as time, age, etc.). You may describe this as, “My construct is affected by time of day. The the time of day increases, my construct will decrease.” This may be a linear positive, linear negative, or a curvilinear relationship. (2 points)
