Pride and Prejudice Essay Follow the assignment instructions and review the rubric: After you read Pride and Prejudice, complete the following activity: Write a multi-paragraph literary analysis essay on Pride and Prejudice. Consider the title of the novel, Pride and Prejudice. Which characters can be seen as representations of “pride” and which can be seen as “prejudice?” What is Austen’s purpose in creating such characters? Please remember the following: Select one character that you think represents pride and one that represents prejudice. Address how these characters contribute to the author’s purpose. (Do they support the theme or message the author is trying to tell us through this novel? Do they create conflict? etc.). Write a thesis statement that concisely describes your thoughts and positions relating to the prompt. Then, thoroughly answer the prompt in your essay. Support your positions with evidence from the text. Your essay must include at least 3 direct quotes from the text (always with a page number citation). A single quote should not exceed three lines of text. The essay must have a clear beginning (introduction), middle (body), and end (conclusion).
