Research Paper
Each student will be responsible for writing a 15-20-page paper on one aspect of lean processes or techniques. Lean processes or techniques such as Kaizen, 5s, Just-in-time, poka-yoke, standard work, yokoten, continuous flow processing, Jidoka, Heijunka, quality at the source, visual management, A3 and problem solving, value stream mapping, SMED, pull system, kanban, total productive maintenance, autonomous maintenance, lean culture, etc. You also could analyze a lean technique used by a specific company. The paper should review existing literature and generate an in-depth analysis of the selected topic.
